Unhappy Unanswered: How can you make a cropped picture your avatar without it being too big of memory?

I made a good cropped picture and saved it and everything, and it was small enough, but when I try to make it my avatar it says it's too big, but it's just as big as everyone elses avatar. How can I take off all the extra memory the computer thinks it takes up? I really want to make it my avatar but it won't go. Can someone help me? I really need the new avatar. Please Right now I am like this.

If you just need to make the image smaller, try going on an editing program like Paint and playing with it. Most computers have it under Accessories, or on their main menu. If you don't, try sending me the image and I can try messing with it.

Also, is it an animated avatar? Most animated avatars take up a lot of memory. I am not sure how to crop an animated avatar without ruining the animation.

Smile

what i do is go to iconator.

www.iconator.com/resizulator.php is the "resizulator". upload your picture onto there, then set the size to "largest forum avatar". that's the size this forum usually uses. there's also an animator on iconator that you can use to make slideshow avvies & stuff like that. it's really cool, you should check it out.

hope i helped. (:

What takes up all the memory is the white behind it, but I don't know how to get rid of that, and it is not animated.

It's alright guys, my dad the computer whiz showed me how to take off all the white, and this thread is now closed. And DarleneYouRock4, I didn't realize it had to be a JPG, and when I changed it, it worked! Thanks DarleneYouRock4!
