Hi! I'm 99Valentine, and welcome to Bearville Insider! [BI]
Here's some of the phrases us members use:
BABV- [Build-A-BearVille] The website Maxine created, and what this site is all about!
VM- [Visitor Messages] Messages you leave on the profile's of members.
TD/TP- [Trading Den/Post] You must be a Trading Teddy to enter. [See below to find out how you can become one!]
DCT- [Daily Chat Thread] Find this in the Coffee House section of the Forum, it's a place where BI Members talk about BABV, BI, and bunches of other stuff! Trust me, my friends & I have had some pretty interesting conversations on there, LOL!

Also, please don't type in red or blue, because these are reserved for the Staff Membears, Mods./Admins.

Read below for the rules of the Forum, and BI!

THE BIG RULES
NO SCAMMING - We don't tolerate scamming here on BI, please don't try it! No asking for people's passwords or anything else that could lead to a member being scammed. If someone asks for your password, notify an admin/mod immediately!!

NO TRADING OUTSIDE OF THE TRADING DEN - In order to protect our members from scams, we have a special area set up for exchanging items called "The Trading Den". No trading, exchanging or discussion of any kind is to occur outside of our Trading Den. There will be no begging for items or asking people for items in their pictures.

NO RUDENESS OR BAD BEHAVIOR - BI is a community about Build-a-Bearville for everyone to have fun. Please respect your fellow members and treat them as you would like to be treated yourself!

PLEASE POST IN THE APPROPRIATE PLACE - We've done our best to set up categories and forums for you to post in. When you have something to post, check where you're posting it and make sure that it's the proper place. For example, if you have a question about using this website, post it in "Yikes! I need help!!". If you want to know about quests, post in the "Quests & Challenges" forum.

YOU ARE OVER 13 OR HAVE PERMISSION - We want to keep all of you safe and we want to make sure that your parents or guardian understand what membership at BI means. Please refrain from posting your e-mail address or any identifying information such as your name or where you live. If anyone asks this information from you, notify an administrator or moderator IMMEDIATELY. By agreeing to these rules, you certify that you are either: 1) over the age of 13, or 2) have your parents' or guardian's approval to participate as a member on the Bearville Insider Forum.

THE FAQS

How are the User Stars determined?
The number of stars is determined by the number of posts:

10 - 99 posts: Click the image to open in full size.
100 - 499 posts: Click the image to open in full size.
500 - 999 posts: Click the image to open in full size.
1000 - 2499 posts: Click the image to open in full size.
2500 - 4999 posts: Click the image to open in full size.
5000+ posts: Click the image to open in full size.

How do I create a new thread?
In order to create a new thread, just go to the forum that you want to create a new thread in and click the "new thread" button on the upper left hand side.

How do I create a poll?
YOU MAY ONLY CREATE POLLS IN THE "POLLS" SECTION

The system will not allow you to create polls outside of this section!

To create a poll, type in the message for your poll and then scroll down below that window and check "Yes, make this a poll" and then click "Submit". The website will then direct you to a page where you can create your poll options.

ALL ABOUT Reputation!
What are the green dots?
This is a user's reputation and is just a way of keeping track of the most helpful people on the forum. If you like what someone has to say, or they help you. Give them a click and add to their reputation!

Giving Reputation
There is a thumb icon right next to the "Reputation" area on each user's post bit.

To add to a person's ‘Reputation’, click on the thumbs up icon. A ‘Reputation’ box will open and you can type your reason for thanking the user.

If you're helpful on the forum, we're sure you'll get them very shortly if you don't already have them! Don't forget to give them out!!

Checking who added to your reputation
You can check your (15) most recent additions by clicking "UserCP" at the top of the forum. It will bring up a list of the last 15 people that have contributed to your reputation.

I don't have any, can you give me some?
We don't allow begging of any kind here on BI, and that includes begging for Reputation. We've already taken the system away to change it because of constant begging and we don't want to have to remove it altogether. Spend some time here, help a few people out and people will give them to you on their own accord.

Can I offer Reputation to encourage people to answer my threads?
NO. We've seen a lot of this and the problem comes when someone forgets to give those promised reputation and people start posting "Why didn't you give me the reputation?" or ask us why someone didn't follow through. People will answer your thread, faster than you even imagined. If you get an answer that helps, feel free to give them reputation, but no offers anymore, PLEASE! Also, no "I only need x more reputation, please help me" threads. Any threads or posts the offer/beg for reputation will be deleted.

ALL ABOUT the Trading Den
What is the Trading Den?
The Trading Den is BI's safe trading area. We have a number of rules in place to keep this area safe for fair trading and to prevent scamming. Trading or trade discussion outside of the Trading Den is not allowed on BI!!

Where is the Trading Den?
As a protected-area, the Trading Den must be unlocked, so people who don't have the required number of posts and haven't agreed to the rules cannot see the Trading Den.

How do I get in to the Trading Den?
Please read the rules and post your agreement as a response once you qualify and are done reading them.

Why Can't I PM?
This is most likely because you are classified as "Knut" on the system, meaning you have less than 10 posts. Once you have crossed over the 10 posts barrier, you will be able to view and use this feature!

Reporting Posts
Reporting a post
vBulletin has a great way to report posts and bring them to our attention. It's the "red flag" right above people's number of posts on the top right of each post. If you see a post that doesn't follow the rules, click that red flag, fill out the reason and click send.

This will alert whatever mod or admin that is on and we can get to it as quickly as possible. This works much better than PM'ing a mod or admin, as anyone can pick up the "ticket" and get to work! PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS FOR ANY OTHER REASON, IT IS ONLY FOR REPORTING POSTS THAT DON'T FOLLOW THE RULES!!

More Frequently Asked Questions can be found in our FAQ section found at the top of the page! For breaking above rules you may be warned/banned appropriately!

If you follow all these rules, you should have a great time on BI!

Welcome to BI!

Here are some ways you can get your questions answered! Also, at any time, feel free to send me a Visitor Message (VM) on my profile if you have any ther questions

If you ever need help on BABV, you can check the guides and directories in the Beginners Guide to Buildabearville. That is located in the About Buildabearville! section of the forum. There, you will find lots of very helpful information about BABV!

If you need a question answered, you can make a thread in the Yikes! I Need Help!! section. Make sure you post in the correct area, depending on if it is a BABV related issue or a BI issue. There is even a section called Guides and How to's. There, members and staff have created many guides that are very helpful.

You can also ask a CyBear Guide in the CyBear Guides section. There, you can make a thread to ask a question about BABV. you can also post your suggestions in the Suggestions sub section.

hi, and welcome to BI!

I am Alice (sunshine on bearville) and here are some (when i say some I mean lots! ) tips to help you get going on BI...

  1. VM stands for Visitor Messages and is a privilege that allows you to speak with other members but anyone can look at your VMs so don't say anything too private or personal. However, they are strict rules regarding the Visitor Messages and I will advise you check them out at The Forum Rules Section. Please be age appropriate when talking to other members. Also there is a ten letter rule, which means you have to post more than ten lettersin a VM t have it able to be posted.
  2. You are a Knut when you have not reached 10 posts. Once you have reached 10 posts you will automatically be positioned as a Polar Bear as a polar bear you can add friends to your list.
  3. Also you do not have the option of writing in either red or blue ink because those are reserved especially for the Administrators and Moderators.
  4. Do not give out any personal information at any circumstances. Your personal life and private information should be kept a secret. Your name, age, school, address, phone number, e-mail address, and even pictures that include big parts of yourself or your village/house can be violated so keep all of the above to yourself and DO NOT give to even people who who are your friends in real because anyone can get hold of it.
  5. Respect all ages. You have to understand that on this site you have kids younger and older than you therefore you must be appropriate of what you say and do on this forum.
  6. Check out the FAQ for any unanswered questions. To get to FAQ look down from Home and it is next to user CP.
  7. Reputation Points are given from how well you give an answer to a member. They are the little green boxes that appear under the number of posts you have. You can see your recent Reputation Points by clicking “User CP” at the top and scrolling down that page. You can add to someone else’s Reputation by clicking the heart with the plus sign. However, if you think someone was breaking the rules and being inappropriate you can click the circle with the exclamation point.
  8. You can add an Avatar, Signature, and Profile Picture by going to “User CP.” Remember to save the file as a JPG, PNG, or GIF. PNG for clear pictures and GIF for animated pictures. You can also upload your Avatar, Signature, or Profile Picture at any reliable Photoshop such as Photobucket, Blingee, TinyPic, or ImageShack.

Bearville Insider members always are asking question and we have many wonderful friends who love to give them answers so check if you need any help or you are unsure of anything out the Yikes! I Need Help Section. You are given an answer for both Bearville Insider and Build-a-Bearville related questions which should be asked in the correct section according to the subsections called BI-Related Issues and BABV-Related Issues. We also have a subsection labeled Guides and How To’s which is where many members have uploaded guides to help you understand something better like for example the guides on how to make a picture for your avatar. Do not hesitate in asking because we certainly would like to give you a helping paw. Hopefully after you have your questions answered you are satisfied with the information the members were so kind to provide.

Sometimes the Bearville Insider Members just don’t know how to answer specific questions and that is why we have our fellow CybearGuides. They are very helpful with their answers and appreciative of the questions you ask, don't be shy it makes them really happy to help anyone in need of it. If you want an elaborated answer then they are the ones to go to. The Cyberguides Section a great addition and a thanks to all the Cybearguides who were so nice to take their time to help us out on the forums.

The General Discussion Section
and the Front Page News Category are wonderful places to look for informative conversations about upcoming events and new updates regarding Build-a-Bearville.

The BearvilleInsider Contest Section is there for you to hold contests and participate in the one’s others have organized. Once every month you can find the Bearville Staff organizing some real enjoyable contest with really generous rewards, like bearville outfitters credit game cards exclusive codes and even open certificate codes for bears! Be sure to check out the rules before going any further.

Build-a-Bearville has so many updates and wonderful things going on that you just can’t keep up sometimes. This is why Bearville Insider has an ultimate guide that includes all sorts of information like a directory of Fountain Prizes, Encyclopedias of Emoticons and Special Moves, and even just threads of some important details. All of this wonderful information is located in the Beginners Guide to Build-a-Bearville
Build-a-Bearville is full of celebrities that are so hard to find sometimes therefore Bearville Insider has made a section for just that. The Looking for Special Guests Section is you vital source for finding all the celebrities at the right time and right moment but you have to keep checking just at the right time to be lucky enough to meet those beary important guests.

The world isn’t perfect not even the virtual world of Build-a-Bearville. You can find many glitches that line the world of Build-a-Bearville. Some of those glitches just so happen to be funny and sharable that is why the Whoopsies! Section is the place to post these things.

You can find just about any universal code, which hasn't expired, in the section labeled Codes. Build-a-Bearville is constantly updating with giveaways and unique web codes which you can redeem at the Workshop in the Town Square.

The Trading Den Section is one of the most popular sections in Bearville Insiders. In order to have access to this section you must have at least 100 helpful posts, a membership of 2 weeks, and must be familiar with the Bearville Insider community. Once you think you are ready to become a Trading Teddy you must apply to be one in The Rules Section. Your post will then be reviewed and the Bearville Insider Staff Members will then have the opportunity to either qualify you or disqualify you. You can become a Sage Bear once you have been a Trading Teddy for 1 month and have 30 or more feedbacks/trades from other members. You must have experience trading the knowledge of what is considered fair and the value of each item. You must also apply for this and you have the choice of being either qualified or disqualified.

The Virtual Sand Box Category is where you have the opportunity to put your skills to the test. You can post you own stories and create a shop in which you are allowed to post unique avatars and signatures for other members. You have the chance to post pictures of your Build-a-Bearville Condo in the Cub Condo Category. Beary Musical and Beary Fashionable are two of the perfect sections to express you style of music and fashion. Put up polls and check out other people’s opinions. This is the section to host parties. Each of these options are broken down into certain parts like the Writing Section, Avatar and Signature Shop Section, Drawings and Comics, and as well as Jokesand Kitchen Fun.

You can find a section where there are threads posted on the different PSI that belongs to each Furry Friend’s in the Furry Friends part of the Section. You can even earn tips on how to increase your knowledge on games and skills on earning a higher level on your Build-a-Bearville Badges. There are even tips about how to finish quests and challenges on Build-a-Bearville by going to the Quests and Challenges Subheading.

Last but not least the Puffles and Penguins and Bears, Oh My!! Category. Chill back and relax at the Daily Chat Thread. You can talk about just about anything, but remember that safety is first so do not post any personal information. Everyone likes to be wished Happy Birthday, that is why Bearville Insider was so kind enough to post a thread for even that. Find a club that you fit well in and go join it or make your own club and have people join that. Bearville Insider isn’t just all about Build-a-Bearville, it also accepts other virtual games like Webkinz and Club Penguin, so check out the section for that.

Our final section of the forum is the Are you Game? Section. This part of the Forum is stuffed with fun and challenging games. You can participate in activities that other members have posted or make up your own and have other’s join it.

Go explore the wonders of Bearville Insider by going to each Section and seeing what it has available for you. I hope to see you around. I am always there if you have any further questions or need a lending paw, just send me a visitor message and I'll be more than happy to leave a reply! I am pretty sure there are many other members who would love to help you as well. By the way, a quick tip here, the bolded words are the Sections and the underline words are the subsections describing what is available in that particular section.

I hope this helped you and that you have a great time here on BI
