Default Answered: Does Photoshop Elements Have Pattern Overlay?

I know it doesn't have blending options like CS does, but does it have pattern/gradient/color overlays still? If so, where? xD

I've always used Photoshop 7.0 or CS4/5, and now I'm liking elements, but it doesn't have one of my fave features.

Answered by myself.

You have to create a new layer, and set its blending mode to overlay.

-_- way too time consuming adobe...fix it! lol

I found a guide online. Here it is.Open a new or existing document in Photoshop.
2
Create a new layer and add new text or graphics, or select an existing element by clicking on it's layer. You can add a new layer by clicking on the "Layer" pull-down menu or pressing "Shift+Ctrl+N."
3
Double-click on the layer to bring up the "Layer Style" menu, then click on the "Pattern Overlay" button. Be sure that the check box is selected. Also, remember to check the "Preview" box so that you can see your changes in real time.
4
Use the "Pattern" details menu to select an overlay from the standard library of patterns or upload your own. The opacity, scale and blend mode tools can be used to alter the pattern to fit your vision. Try experimenting with these adjustments to find new effects for your work.
5
Click on "OK" to apply your pattern to the selected element. There should now be an "Fx" designation on the layer you chose indicating that an effect has been applied to that layer. Click on the "Fx" button to alter your effect.

Betty, I'm sorry but that guide isn't for elements, thats how it works in photoshop 7.0 and the CS versions. I already know how to do that. I'm wondering about elements.

I did as well, and got nothing. That's why I'm asking on here, because other people have been using elements foreverr while I've used other versions.

I'm pretty sure it does! I use CS5 and Elements. It should show up in the Layers, no?

I agree! Creative Suite is better and more straight forward.
