Thanks for this. Not only for clearing this up but for kindly stating it.
Question:
I have a question, I've told people when they advertise in sections like General Discussion it's not allowed. And when people have said 'This should go in the Links section or Coffee House' I've stated that they don't go in either. Am I right to do such a thing?
Another Question:
Sorry, I've been so eager to ask somebody but I've never really had the courage. As well as people have come and said 'This club is really good, join' and it being they're own club, they've advertised in my vm's. Even though it not being a link off-site, I thought advertising in vm's wasn't allowed.
Well thanks again for this I hope people obey them.

Rather than you all posting that something doesn't belong in a certain forum or it belongs somewhere else, its best just to flag it and leave it be. We may not get to it immediately but we will get to it. It saves a lot of grief when 5-10 of you start posting what should be done rather than paying attention to the subject of the thread. I think thats what people have been getting hurt by...and honestly, after some of what I've read, I would too. So, please, just report it and we'll take it from there.

Second question, there is no advertising period. I'm about to change Tamster's clarification because I think it didn't clarify it like she wanted to. If you and I are friends and you say "Hey, fom, you and I both use Adobe Creative Suite. Do you know if there are other members that do? Maybe we could all chat on a thread?" And I say "Theres already a CS club...its in the club section you should check it out." You come back and say I couldn't find it...wheres it at?" I could leave you the link. But when people just go around posting links to their clubs or websites and claiming they only left it on friends profiles...its causes issues. By nature of interacting with you all, I consider you all my friends. But I wouldn't leave a link for you on your profile thread. That is people taking advantage of Tamster's statement.

Our stated rules are very clear:
NO ADVERTISING of any kind, anywhere, including VMs and PMs.
http://www.bearvilleinsider.com/foru...thread.php?t=2

Its not fair to one person's thread if you go around and draw attention to yours.

We've allowed people to leave links for threads in their signature. That is ALL that is now acceptable.

Okay, I get it now. Thanks, I just didn't want people going round posting false information to the owner.

Ok, Sorry for posting another Question:

Are we now only allowed to post a Link to our link thread in our signatures? Where as before we could post a direct link?

No, you can still post a direct link to your site...or you can post a link to your link here.

Thanks for posting, I'll be sure to follow the rules(:

One question though.
On this thread, it states that you may show links to a close friend in VM's, as long as you don't advertise. However, you said you cannot advertise in VM'S.
Which is true?

When asked to clarify, I stated clearly you cannot post in VMs anymore. Where did you see otherwise?
