Macs: [I have one, using it now!]
I'm hopeful it works the same on laptops.

1. Press Shift+Command+4 at the same time.
2. The cursor arrow has turned to a cross. Click and drag that cross over the area that you are taking a picture of.
3. Let go once the area has been covered. If it is not on, click the software called Preview. It should appear on your profile page.
4. Right click on the picture. On the bar that appears, roll over Open With.
5. With the next bar that appears, click other.
6. When the list of applications appear, scroll down to iPhoto and click.
7. Your picture will appear in iPhoto. You can't edit, so adjust, crop, change colors to sepia or black&white.
8. When you are done, go to an uploading site.
9. When you are choosing the file, a document bar will come up. On the left-hand side click iPhoto. Your pictures from iPhoto will show up. Click the one you want and upload!

It's the way I do it...I hope it can work for Mac Laptops.

FIRST:Look at the top of the keyboard, and you should see a "Print Screen" or "Prt Sc".
SECOND: Click the Start button on the bottom of the screen, and go to ALL PROGRAMS... then go to Accesories and find PAINT.
THIRD: Come back to the screen that you want to get a picture of, and click on the "Print Sceen" button.
FOURTH: Go back to Paint, and press "CTRL" and "V" at the same time, or go to the Edit bar at the top of your screen, and find "Paste".
FIFTH: You should see a dotted line around the screen, and move it to the desired spot.

be sure to save it as a JPEG image or it wont work...

Hope this helps!!

this is for a regular laptop, or a desktop. Not a Mac. Mac guides are in the post above.

some people might have to press FN and alt and the print screen button at the same time to make it work.
