Default How to make a picture transparent with PhotoFiltre

How to make a picture transparent with PhotoFiltre

Please ask your parents/gardians first if you can download this program, this is virus free so there is no need to worry about your computer. To download this program just go to this website http://photofiltre.free.fr/download_en.htm and choose the first file which is the English one.

1. Open PhotoFiltre, copy a picture and paste it like this (You right-click and click 'Paste As New Image'

Click the image to open in full size.

2. Then try to fill the picture you have as much as you can. When done you click this button (It's a person on a white and grey checkered background).

Click the image to open in full size.

3. This might appear but it doesn't matter you can just click 'Yes'.

Click the image to open in full size.

4. Next you'll see this, put tolerance 0 (It will appear transparent but only of one colour which we would like). Click preview to see if you like it.

Click the image to open in full size.

5. If you do click 'OK' and save it, it will be saved as .GIF so it works and your finished, heres how it will look like.

Click the image to open in full size.

Click the image to open in full size.

Hope this is a good guide.

Thanks for sharing it. It's always great to see members spend time to write a guide and share with other members.
I have a question:
What do you mean by filling the picture. Do you mean clicking the eraser to erase the unwanted background???? Does PhotoFiltre senses the area for you so you don't have to erase it in a hard way?

Heya, I use photofiltre quite a lot, so you fill out the background with the bucket tool.

Yes, but sometimes is there is a big blend of colours you'll need to use paint brushes, I use the square because it doesn't really leave any blur out of the shape or you can use the polygon cutter and you have to set the second colour the colour you want to fill it in. Hope this helps
