Default ~Tutorial-tastic Packet. Packet 1~ Rainbow Beams and Transparent Avvies in GIMP 2.6

~~Tutorial-tastic Packet~~
Packet 1: Rainbow Beams and Trasparent Avvies

1st, open up your picture in GIMP Click the image to open in full size.

and select the 'Fuzzy Selection tool' like in the picture shown.


2nd, click Ctrl and X at the same time {For PC} for it to cut your background. Click the image to open in full size.


3rd, Click 'New Layer' Click the image to open in full size.

and click 'Ok'


4th, click on the Paintbrush tool and make your settings like this: Click the image to open in full size. and make your Foreground color white.


5th, Click the 'Paths tool' and start clicking and dragging Click the image to open in full size.

6th, when you adjust everything to your liking, right-click and go down to 'Edit' Click the image to open in full size.

then click the 'Stroke Path' button.


7th, When the 'Stroke Path' options box pops up, Click the image to open in full size.


click 'Stroke with a paint tool' button, and if it wasn't already selected, go in the drop down list and find 'paintbrush'. When you have finished click 'Stroke'.


8th, Sweet! Almost done! Now, click the 'Fuzzy Selection tool' again and select the beam. Click the image to open in full size.

9th, click the 'Blend tool' Click the image to open in full size.

10th, now click on the 'Gradient' button and click on this Gradient: Click the image to open in full size.

11th, click above the beam and drag down below it like this: Click the image to open in full size.

12th, This is a easy step - just erase every other part of the beam:

Lastly, If you want to make your Avvie transparent, go to 'File' and go down to 'Save' Click the image to open in full size.

when the Save box comes up, save it in your Pictures and as a png file. Click the image to open in full size.


Tada! Here should be you ending result:

Hmm... I actually don't know... ok I justed tryed it out, you can't make a rainbow beam using the gradient tool, but yeah you can paint in said the beam a rainbow(:

It's ok, it took my almost a year to actually figure out how to make a transparent background! Yours is fixable: Click the image to open in full size. TADA! xD

Thanks! Umm... to make it easier? I'm not sure.... maybe watch a tutorial online. All you do is click and then click again but drag it and keep doing it. It can be as wide apart as you want it (: xD
