The November 1st Bearville times is already out today and there’s a bunch of interesting stories in it that you’ll surely want to know about! With all the new stuff being introduced on November 1st, there’s a lot to talk about!

Of course, the most anticipated items to be released at Build-a-Bear Workshops are the Virtual Ride Cards, which are due to be released tomorrow, November 1st! Details are published in the Bearville Times: the cards will cost $10, or £8, and you will get a card that is good for 10,000 Bear Bills and your choice of a virtual ride. In addition, if you’re in the US, you get a free $10 DonorsChoose.org GivingCard to donate money to school projects! Way to go BABW!!

Next, take a look at Hal & Holly Moose! They are two of the 3 Holiday Build-a-Bears and you can see that Hal Moose comes with Antlers that your character can wear and Holly Moose comes with a necklace for your character!

The official release of the Turkey is tomorrow, so to celebrate this, Build-a-Bearville will have a wild turkey running around in Friendship Forest, giving out free prizes!

The theater is going to be opening to the public tomorrow, November 1st, with a preview of Hal & Holly Moose’s Uplifting Christmas Adventure.  If you want to see the inside of the theater, we posted a picture of it last week!

Finally, there’s going to be a new Chloe Show on November 6th and the guest isn’t a mystery this time around.  It’s none other than Maxine Clark, Founder and Chief Executive Bear of Build-a-Bear Workshop! We can’t wait to see what Mamabear will say during her interview with ChloeRocks!

I just logged in to Bearville to check out the new Bearville Times and went to turn off my scooter so I could read it without getting all the friend requests and I saw this….

The wonderful people in Build-a-Bearville must have seen the last line of my previous article where I previewed the Motor Scooter, saying I was heading to a Build-a-Bear Workshop to get my hands on a Propeller Hat and a Hoverboard!

I could barely contain myself as I clicked on the Hoverboard and out of the inventory menu.

There I was, ready to go! I zoomed all around Bearville at top speed, Town Square, Bear University, Paw Park and then I realized… I still had a Propeller Hat to try out!

I quickly clicked into the inventory menu, giddy with excitement again and I was ready to go again, making laps around Build-a-Bearville again!

Just as I assumed, both the Propeller Hat and Hoverboard move as fast as the Motor Scooter so, starting tomorrow, there’s going to be a lot of people zooming around Bearville… I really can’t wait!

Also, like the motor scooter, both of these look a little different when they are in action.  I took a couple of action shots and you can see how my feet are more aggressively placed on the hoverboard and how my legs kind of dangle behind me with the propeller hat!

I’ve still got some more playing around to do before I choose my favorite virtual ride and here’s where it stands now.  I’m kind of partial to the scooter, because it was the first one.  I really like the hoverboard because I was a skateboarder when I was younger and it reminds me of younger days.  Finally, the geek in me loves the propeller hat and I think it’s hilarious how my feet dangle when I float around on it.  So, there you have it, I love them all and can’t choose any of them to be my favorite.  Go figure!

Some of you may recall our article a week and a half ago where we showed you a mysterious book in the Libeary. It turns out that we were right, the book links to a preview of "The Uplifting Christmas Adventure" featuring Hal & Holly Moose!

One of the users in our Bearville Insider forum, LindaFriendly, discovered this morning that the book has returned to the Libeary (you can see a character place it on the shelf) and that the link to the preview is now working!

Just click the glowing book or the direct link here!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL OUR INSIDERS!!!

Bearville is celebrating Halloween today too, sending you on a Halloween Trick-or-Treat contest! After you complete the quest, you get a free pumpkin lollipop. Click on Bearemy in the Town Square to get started.

After you press "Yes" to accept the question, Bearemy will tell you a joke and send you to Pawlette.  She’ll tell you a Halloween joke and then send you off to another character in Bearville, and so on.  It’s sort of like Trick-or-Treating with the famous characters in Build-a-Bearville!

When you get to Cheetah in the Libeary, it marks the end of the quest and he gives you a free pumpkin pop.

Make sure that you log in today and complete the quest because this piece of candy will only be available today!

I logged on to Build-a-Bearville early this morning and found a furbulous surprise! Thanks to some wonderful people in Build-a-Bearville, yours truly was given access to a Motor Scooter a few days early in Bearville.  I must say, it is really PAWsome!!

For those that haven’t seen the motor scooter in action yet, it works just like the Segway HT that you may have seen in real life.  My character interacts with it in the same way that a human would interact with a real Segway: you can see me lean forward while it is moving and stand more upright to stop it!

The scooter is REALLY fast! I’m assuming that the Hoverboard and Propeller Hat move at the same speed as the scooter, which is twice as fast as normal walking speed — maybe faster! I won’t use the map nearly as much now that I have my scooter, since I can get from place to place so much more quickly!

Here’s a picture of the scooter in my inventory in the vehicle tab.

I tested the scooter out on a variety of terrain and you can use it anywhere that you can normally walk: in your condo, in the stores, outside, etc.

In my testing, I also discovered that you cannot send the Virtual Rides through Bear Mail or trade them. This is great news to parents who may have been worried about buying the $10 Virtual Ride, only to have their son or daughter accidentally trade or send the Virtual Ride away!

Even though I have been able to test the Motor Scooter a few days prior to the official release, I didn’t experience one bug or glitch! Everything worked perfectly! With my extensive experience in Webkinz World, no glitches on an innovative new item, especially before release, impressed me to no end!

I can promise that I’ll be one of the first people lined up at my local Build-a-Bear Workshop on November 1st — I still need a Hoverboard and a Propeller Hat!

A new universal code was activated in Build-a-Bearville yesterday! One of our forum users, PriscillaBallerina31, was the first member on BearvilleInsider to purchase the Build-a-Bear-licensed Williams-Sonoma Bear Cake Pan.  When she tried to enter the code a few days ago, it wasn’t working, but one of our moderators, Auntbear, discovered yesterday that the code is working and is a universal code! The code is ****-****-****, and a picture of the Bear Cake is shown below!

This article was edited on October 31st, 2008 at the request of Build-a-Bearville to remove the code.

According to the literature, if you collect all 4 Gem Bears in Bearville, including the most recent Bearilliant Blue Teddy, you will receive a Bonus Tiara. Unfortunately, this tiara hasn’t been awarded to our members who have collected them all.

One of the members of our Build-a-Bearville Forum, sophiesosweet, sent an e-mail to Build-a-Bear regarding the missing Bonus Tiara. Shortly after, she received a response with this picture of ChloeRocks wearing the tiara, letting her know that it will be fixed very soon and those who have collected all 4 bears would have theirs very soon!
